GSA offers a variety of swim programs for athletes at all levels from beginners to nationally ranked competitors. Training provided by GSA’s experienced, ASCA certified coaches. Pick your own practices on a daily basis. Take advantage of GSA’s flexible monthly Drop In/Drop Out option. No annual contracts are required. No secondary facility memberships are necessary. GSA is one of ten North Carolina teams named by USAS as a Club of Excellence. GSA earned the award based on our sound business management practices, our outstanding coaches, and the success of our swimmers. The other nine NC teams were MAC, RSA, MOR, NCAC, WSY, Duke, YOTA, WOW and New Wave. This is GSA’s third year in the Club.

GSA’s senior team competed in the Speedo Champions Series Southern Zone Eastern Section Senior Championships in Cary, NC this past weekend. Teams from 9 states (NC, GA, KY, MS, SC, WV, TN, and parts of FL and AL) met to race for sectional bragging rights. Three Olympians Cullen Jones, Amanda Weir, and Mark Gangloff, also competed in the meet. Once again, GSA seniors made their mark! Click here for the full report. GSA’s 14 and under swimmers participated in the 2009 North Carolina Age Group State Championships held in Huntersville, February 19-22. Our swimmers earned personal best times, qualified to swim at the Age Group Sectional Meet, and had some fun together, too! Click here for full report.
New swimsuit rules for 12&U. Effective 5/15/09, swimsuits worn for all 12 & under age group defined competition shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor past the knee. Any exceptions for medical or religious reasons need to be approved by USA Swimming before each competition. Any questions? Ask a GSA coach or a GSA parent official.
Nineteen of GSA’s senior team traveled to Cary with Coach Kevin to compete in the North Carolina Senior State Championships. Our swimmers reaped the benefits of their excellent training and hard work, posting many Top 24 finishes and personal best times including achieving cuts for upcoming Sectional and National competitions. John Gordon Dewey was a GSA swimmer and Grimsley High School Swimmer who was stricken
with cancer early in life. GSA holds this meet in his honor. If your swimmer (12+) is
interested in participating now that it’s local, contact your coach.

Thank you to everyone who assisted with GSA’s summer marketing programs with the Community Swimming Association teams this year. Our tent was filled with parents who were very interested in our team’s swimming programs. Thanks to parents who coordinated and contributed to the GSA breakfasts each morning, to our CSA summer team liaisons, and to the swimmers who helped with GSA’s summer team clinics.
Also congratulations to the GSA swimmers who participated in City Meet this year. GSA claims many Golden Swimmers and City Champions this year, not to mention new City Meet records for Natalie Labonge and Myles Oliver!

GSA’s Swim For Cancer Raffle held during the three days of City Meet raised $350. Thank you to everyone who helped support the raffle. The American Cancer Society representatives were very appreciative of our team’s contribution. The raffle winner was Eric Kaylor. Congratulations, Eric!
